Mr. Albert Minder was born in Schüpfen, Bern, Switzerland and baptized there as well. He came to the United States aboard Ship La Bretagne, he is shown on the passenger list as arriving at the Port of New York on March 23rd 1891. Mr. Minder listed his occupation as, cook. The rest of his family came in 1894.
It is believed that Albert came here to set up a family bakery business. His father Ulrich helped in the bakery until his death in 1930. His brother Emil also helped out in the bakery until he opened his own at 646 Main Street by Starr Ave.
In 1900, he lived with his parents and siblings a short time. After his marriage to Miss Emma Weber on September 7th 1901, he resided at 1217 Nevada and lived there until his death. His bakery was located at 1226 Nevada.
He was a well known baker for many years in his East Toledo neighborhood.
